The cruise ship Oceania Vista docked in Acapulco on Monday morning with 1,108 passengers and 776 crew members onboard. The visit marks the seventh cruise call to the resort city this year, and the ninth across the state of Guerrero.

Local authorities welcomed the vessel with a traditional dockside ceremony that included regional music, folkloric dance performances, and souvenirs inspired by local culture. Officials expressed their appreciation to the cruise line, crew, and travelers for choosing Acapulco as a port of call, describing the visit as further evidence of the city’s recovering and growing cruise sector.

Government representatives noted that cruise arrivals have risen during the current administration, providing important economic support to local communities that rely heavily on tourism-related income.

Guerrero’s Tourism Secretary, Simón Quiñones Orozco, said the ship’s call offers another positive contribution to the regional economy, particularly after the successful Abierto Mexicano de Tenis, which recently drew significant visitor numbers to the destination. He explained that cruise tourism works alongside major events to help maintain consistent economic activity throughout the season.

While in port, guests are expected to visit some of Acapulco’s best-known landmarks, including the cliff divers of La Quebrada and the historic Fuerte de San Diego. Many are also likely to spend time at the city’s beaches and explore other cultural and historical attractions.
