Aggregates Carrier Grounds in Neva River, Russia

On September 21, the aggregates carrier Arkadiy Minchenya ran aground in the Neva River, located in Russia’s Leningrad Region.
Early reports indicate the grounding took place at the 1311-kilometer mark in the Kirovsky District. Authorities confirmed that no injuries occurred and no oil pollution was detected. The crew managed to refloat the vessel on their own without outside assistance.
An investigation into the incident has been launched by Russia’s regional marine authority.
