Bahrain Imposes Night Maritime Curfew Amid Security Concerns
The Kingdom of Bahrain has introduced a maritime curfew for sailors and seafarers, restricting movement between 6:00 pm and 4:00 am local time. The measure came into effect on March 29 and has been implemented to enhance public safety.
In addition, the Bahrain Ministry of Interior has prohibited the operation of fishing boats and recreational vessels during these hours until further notice.
Authorities have advised seafarers to comply with the restrictions to protect themselves and avoid potential legal action.
The ministry said the decision was made in response to “blatant Iranian aggression” involving missile and drone activity. According to the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force, air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed 174 missiles and 391 drones targeting the country since the attacks began, highlighting the seriousness of the threat.
