A relaxing visit to Royal Caribbean’s private destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay, turned chaotic on Sunday when a large altercation involving over 30 individuals broke out at the Oasis Lagoon pool.

According to eyewitnesses, the scene quickly became “unruly” and “out of hand.” Passengers posting on online forums like CruiseCritic and Reddit described the violence as escalating rapidly, with several groups engaged in physical confrontations. One man reportedly suffered a head injury and was seen bleeding before being evacuated for medical attention.

Videos shared on social media show dozens of people pushing, hitting, and wrestling both in the water and around the pool deck. Royal Caribbean crew members and security staff rushed to break up the fight and regain control.

The disturbance took place while the cruise ships Utopia of the Seas and Jewel of the Seas were docked at the island. Witnesses said that once the situation escalated, the Oasis Lagoon area was cleared, music stopped, and bar service was halted. The pool was closed for the rest of the day.

While the specific cause of the incident hasn’t been confirmed, some passengers believe it stemmed from tensions within a large group that may have known each other before boarding. Others suggested alcohol could have played a role, especially given the cruise line’s unlimited drink package options.

Royal Caribbean has yet to release an official statement regarding the fight, and there’s been no confirmation from Bahamian officials about arrests or potential charges.
