British Cruise Passenger Dies After Choking Near Cádiz

Spanish officials have launched an investigation following the death of an 83-year-old British man who choked while eating on a cruise ship off the coast of Cádiz, Spain.
Kenneth Edward Cooper, a retiree from Bournemouth, England, was dining aboard the cruise ship on April 10 when he began to choke. Medical staff on the vessel responded immediately, but his condition necessitated urgent care ashore.
The ship altered its route to reach the port of Cádiz, where Cooper was transferred to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts by healthcare professionals, he passed away the following day.
At this time, the name of the cruise ship has not been officially released, and specific details about the incident remain limited.
Authorities in Cádiz have initiated an inquiry to determine the exact circumstances surrounding Cooper’s death. His body has since been returned to Bournemouth, where funeral arrangements are being made.
