The bulk carrier Tim. S. Dool ran aground in the St. Lawrence River near Morrisburg, Ontario, on November 23. Recovery efforts are currently underway, according to authorities.

The grounding occurred at approximately 12:30 PM local time while the vessel was transporting a shipment of grain. The exact cause of the incident has not been disclosed.

The St. Lawrence Seaway Management Corporation reported that no injuries were sustained by the crew and that there have been no signs of pollution or water ingress. The vessel remains stable and is located outside the main navigation channel. Officials are finalizing plans to refloat the ship.

The Tim. S. Dool, flagged in Canada, was built in 1967 and is owned by the Canadian company Algoma Central Corporation. The vessel operates primarily in the St. Lawrence River and the Great Lakes. It measures 222.5 meters in length, 23.7 meters in width, and has a gross tonnage of 18,700.
