Carnival Liberty Returns with Major Upgrades & New Features

Carnival Liberty is back in action following a recent drydock that brought a wide range of improvements to the ship, Carnival Cruise Line announced in a press statement.
The vessel, originally launched in 2005, resumed operations from New Orleans on July 12, 2025, after completing scheduled maintenance and refurbishment work in Europe.
Carnival confirmed that the upgrades were extensive and introduced several fresh offerings for guests to enjoy—similar to the enhancements recently made to the Carnival Valor.
One of the standout additions is the Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, a space dedicated to honoring military personnel and their families, which Carnival is gradually introducing across its fleet.
Also new to the Liberty is a WaterWorks aqua park, featuring updated water slides, and a brand-new mini golf course for family fun.
The onboard spa has been transformed into a Cloud9 Spa, receiving a total makeover that includes new decor, improved treatment areas, and the introduction of the Elemis Boutique. Upgrades were also made to the spa’s steam rooms and saunas, and the fitness center was completely overhauled with modern equipment.
Casino lovers can look forward to a refreshed layout with more slot machines and table games, enhancing the onboard gaming experience.
For younger guests, enhancements include new gaming stations at Camp Ocean, and updates to both the Arcade and Club O2 teen lounge.
Other highlights include a Dream Studio for custom photo sessions and a Carnival Adventures area where guests can learn about and book shore excursions.
The ship’s FUN Shops were redesigned with new displays, and a new High Spirits liquor store has been added to the retail offerings.
Accessibility was also a major focus during the renovation, with improved access routes and updated facilities in various public areas and cabins to better accommodate all passengers.
Now back in service, Carnival Liberty is operating seven-night cruises from New Orleans, visiting destinations in the Western Caribbean and the Bahamas, including Carnival’s new private island, Celebration Key in Grand Bahama.
