Chimu Adventures has unveiled a new themed expedition, Frozen Chapters: A Literary Retreat to Antarctica, which will sail aboard the Ocean Nova, the company said in a press release.

The 13-day expedition is scheduled to depart on Nov. 25, 2026, and is aimed at travelers looking to combine Antarctic exploration with a focus on writing and creative development.

The itinerary takes guests through the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands, offering opportunities to see towering icebergs, glaciers and native wildlife, including Adélie and gentoo penguins, Weddell and leopard seals, and whales.

Participants will take part in writing workshops, Writers on Writing panel discussions and a book club centered on The Art of Breaking Ice by Rachael Mead, led by Australian authors Jane Caro AM, Jock Serong and Hilde Hinton.

Exploration activities include daily Zodiac excursions and shore landings, allowing guests to visit remote bays, channels and landing sites throughout the Antarctic region.

Travelers can also choose optional adventure add-ons, such as overnight camping on the ice, snowshoeing, kayaking and a polar plunge. The voyage also offers the chance to contribute to citizen science initiatives, including NASA’s GLOBE Observer program and seabird monitoring projects.

Pricing for the Frozen Chapters expedition starts at 13,848 Australian dollars per person for a quad-berth cabin, based on the Nov. 25, 2026 departure.
