CMA CGM Expands Air Cargo with Air Belgium Acquisition

French shipping giant CMA CGM has finalized its purchase of Air Belgium, strengthening its air cargo operations by adding four aircraft to its growing fleet.
With this acquisition, CMA CGM now operates a total of nine cargo planes. The company confirmed that the Air Belgium name will remain in use as part of the integration.
Damien Mazaudier, executive vice president of CMA CGM’s air freight division, commented: “The acquisition of Air Belgium marks an important step in the expansion of the CMA CGM Group’s air freight operations in Europe and worldwide. It immediately strengthens our air capacity while addressing current logistical challenges.”
Looking ahead, CMA CGM’s fleet will be boosted with the upcoming delivery of a Boeing 777F. From 2027, the company also plans to add eight new Airbus A350Fs, further expanding its global air cargo capabilities.
