Costa Cruises Celebrates World Nutella Day at Sea
Costa Cruises celebrated World Nutella Day yesterday on February 5 with a variety of Nutella-themed treats served at its onboard Nutella Bar, the company announced in a press release.
Guests sailing on Costa Toscana and Costa Smeralda were able to enjoy a full Nutella experience on deck 17, where the popular spread takes center stage.
“The Nutella Bar brings Italy’s most beloved treat to our ships, and as an Italian brand, Costa is proud to bring the flavors and essence of Italy to guests on board,” said Priscilla Reyes, head of sales for Costa Cruises North America.
“World Nutella Day invites guests to savor exclusive Nutella creations at sea while enjoying the authentic Italian atmosphere of a Costa cruise.”
According to Costa, a standard seven-day voyage typically sees between 80 and 120 kilograms of Nutella consumed, depending on the size of the ship and the number of guests onboard.
The Nutella menu includes a wide selection of desserts such as chocolate cake, crêpes, pastries, crostata, and Nutella pizza topped with fresh fruit. Guests can also enjoy Nutella-inspired gelato options, including Nutella Gelato Affogato, which features Fior di Latte gelato topped with warm Nutella, roasted hazelnuts, and a light crunchy wafer.
In addition, Costa offers a Nutella dessert available exclusively onboard: the signature “Nutella Crostata della Tradizione.” This traditional Italian tart, filled with Nutella, is prepared fresh each day by the ship’s pastry team.
