Explora I Begins Second Summer Season in the Mediterranean

The Explora I has returned to Europe for its second straight summer sailing the Mediterranean.
After spending the winter season cruising the Caribbean, the Explora Journeys ship completed a 16-night transatlantic crossing that departed Miami on April 2, 2025. The repositioning voyage made stops in Bermuda, the Azores, Portugal, and Spain before arriving in Barcelona.
Now based in its Spanish homeport, the Explora I is launching a lineup of seven- to 21-night itineraries that explore a wide variety of ports across Southern Europe.
This summer’s schedule includes sailings through the Greek Islands and the Adriatic, including a 14-night journey departing from Piraeus in July. Alongside well-known cruise stops, the ship will visit more unique destinations such as Nydri in Greece, Fiskardo in Cephalonia, Marmaris in Turkey, and Rovinj in Croatia.
The Explora I is also set to call at Eastern Mediterranean ports like Kavala in Greece, Istanbul in Turkey, and Kotor in Montenegro. In the Western Mediterranean, its itineraries will feature stops in Italy, Spain, France, and Malta, with standout visits to places like Puerto Santo Stefano in Italy’s Tuscany region and Monte Carlo in Monaco.
At the end of the European season, the vessel will head back to Miami on a repositioning cruise in late October, where it will begin its winter program in the Caribbean.
Meanwhile, the Explora II — which joined the Explora Journeys fleet in 2024 — will also spend the 2025 summer season cruising the Mediterranean, offering seven- to 21-night sailings from ports such as Civitavecchia, Barcelona, Monaco, and Valencia between April and November.
Looking ahead, Explora Journeys is preparing to welcome its third ship, the Explora III, which is scheduled for delivery in 2026.
