On June 26, a maritime accident occurred at the Port of Igoumenitsa in Greece, involving two passenger vessels. The incident took place during docking procedures when the Italian-registered RoRo passenger ferry Catania made contact with the Greek-flagged ferry Kydon Palace.

The bow of the Catania collided with the starboard side of the Kydon Palace, leading to visible damage on both ships. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained by any passengers or crew members aboard either ferry.

Authorities have launched an investigation to determine how the collision occurred. Officials are also carrying out inspections to assess the level of damage and confirm the vessels’ structural safety before further operations.
