Holland America to Debut Alaska Float in Macy’s Parade

Holland America Line revealed that it will debut a brand-new float in the 99th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade on Thursday, November 27, 2025, just ahead of the company’s 80th year of sailing in Alaska.
“Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is a national stage where we can celebrate our nearly 80 years exploring Alaska by bringing the beauty and adventure of Alaska to the streets of Manhattan,” said Beth Bodensteiner, president of Holland America Line.
“We love Alaska, and our float is a tribute to its grandeur, a way to honor its landscapes, spirit and people while inspiring travelers to experience it with us,” she added.
According to the company, the float will feature kinetic design elements never before seen in the parade, highlighting glaciers, wildlife, and the dramatic landscapes of Denali National Park. It will also spotlight Holland America’s Global Fresh Fish Program.
The float will travel the full 2.5-mile parade route before arriving at Macy’s Herald Square.
“We are thrilled to welcome Holland America Line to this year’s Parade lineup as they bring the majesty and untamed wilderness of Alaska to New York City this November,” said Jordan Dabby, producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Julie Sande, Alaska’s Commissioner of Commerce, Community, and Economic Development, added: “Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is an incredible opportunity to share the splendors of Alaska with the rest of the country.”
Looking ahead, Holland America noted that in its 79th Alaska season (summer 2026), six ships will sail the region from April through September, with voyages spanning seven to 28 days, including the special monthlong “Alaska Arctic Circle Solstice.” Guests can choose itineraries departing roundtrip from Seattle, from Vancouver, or between Vancouver and Whittier (Anchorage).
