Global agricultural merchant and processor Louis Dreyfus is partnering with a subsidiary of AD Ports Group to develop a clean bulk handling and storage facility for agricultural goods at Karachi Port, becoming part of Pakistan’s broader port development program.

Rubens Marques, Louis Dreyfus’s head of South and Southeast Asia, said: “This development reflects our long-term commitment to the country, where we have been operating for over 15 years, and our confidence in its growing role in global agricultural trade. The facility will be a key lever as we work to enhance our supply chain capabilities for the benefit of our business partners up- and downstream – in Pakistan, the region and beyond.”

The new bulk facility will be located at Karachi Gateway Terminal Multipurpose Limited, complementing AD Ports Group’s operations at Karachi Gateway Terminal Limited (KGTL), the port’s main container terminal.

AD Ports noted that Pakistan holds a strategic position in its regional expansion plans thanks to its role as the maritime gateway to Central Asia. The group is also working to develop the “Middle Corridor,” an east-west land route linking China and Europe.
