MSC Cruises has expanded its fleet plans with the order of two additional LNG-powered World Class ships from the French shipbuilder Chantiers de l’Atlantique. These new vessels, currently designated as World Class 5 and World Class 6, will accommodate up to 5,400 guests each and are slated for delivery in 2029 and 2030.

These latest orders will add to MSC Cruises’ growing World Class fleet, which already includes MSC World Europa and MSC World America, along with MSC World Asia and MSC World Atlantic—both of which are currently under construction.

MSC World Asia is expected to launch at the end of 2026, with planned itineraries in Europe. Meanwhile, MSC World Atlantic will begin operations from Port Canaveral in 2027, expanding MSC’s presence in the North American market.

As is customary in the cruise industry, the new ship orders are contingent upon securing appropriate financing. Once finalized, these additions will further solidify MSC Cruises’ commitment to innovative, energy-efficient vessels powered by liquefied natural gas.
