MSC Euribia Issues Safety Guidance While Docked in Dubai
Passengers onboard MSC Euribia have received a letter outlining emergency procedures while the ship remains docked in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The vessel is staying in port after cruise operations in the Persian Gulf were canceled due to ongoing regional tensions.
The notice, distributed on March 3, 2026, was shared with guests as a precaution during the ship’s extended stay in Dubai. In the message, Captain Paolo Benini explained that the port area is currently considered secure, but additional safety guidance has been provided so everyone onboard understands what to do if the situation changes.
The communication introduced two color-coded announcements that could be broadcast over the ship’s public address system in the event of an emergency.
If the message “Delta Tango – Blue Code” is announced, it indicates that a possible threat has been identified in the vicinity of the ship. In that case, crew members would begin clearing the open outside decks and direct passengers to designated safe areas onboard. Guests are asked to follow crew instructions promptly.
A second announcement, “Delta Tango – Red Code,” would signal an immediate emergency involving the ship. If this code is issued, passengers would need to follow crew instructions right away. Depending on the circumstances, guests may be directed either to protected areas onboard or possibly ashore. Passengers are also encouraged to remain calm and assist others if necessary.
The letter stressed that the information was not issued because the ship’s risk assessment had changed. Instead, it was provided as a precaution while the vessel remains in port longer than originally planned.
Captain Benini reassured guests that the crew is fully trained to respond to any situation and that the ship continues to closely monitor developments in coordination with local authorities.
MSC Euribia has remained in Dubai after regional security concerns led to the cancellation of cruise operations in the area.
