MSC Cruises has announced a shift in deployment plans for the MSC Meraviglia, confirming that the ship will operate out of PortMiami rather than New York for the 2026-2027 winter season.

In a notice sent to guests with bookings from New York, the company explained that all planned departures from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal have been cancelled. Instead, the MSC Meraviglia will sail from Florida, offering a mix of six- and eight-night cruises to the Caribbean and the Bahamas.

“Due to this change, we regret to inform you that your sailing from New York has been cancelled,” the cruise line wrote in its message. “With the ship’s move to Miami, we will no longer offer sailings from New York.”

Originally, the vessel was scheduled to offer weekly seven-night itineraries from Brooklyn, visiting Nassau, Port Canaveral, and MSC’s private island, Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. These Sunday departures have now been discontinued.

MSC acknowledged the disruption to passengers’ travel plans and said it would offer rebooking options: “We understand that this change will require you to adjust your travel plans and make additional arrangements to continue with the vacation you have envisioned,” the notice read. “As a gesture of our sincere appreciation for your flexibility and continued loyalty, we are offering various options to rebook your holiday.”

From Miami, the MSC Meraviglia will now feature sailings to popular Caribbean destinations such as Grand Turk, St. Maarten, and St. Kitts, along with continued visits to Ocean Cay.

The updated cruises will become available for booking on August 6, 2025. MSC also noted that during the 2026-27 season, PortMiami will serve as a hub for several of its ships, including the MSC Seaside, MSC Poesia, and the new MSC World America, which first debuted in April 2025.
