MSC Musica Expands South America Homeports for 2026
MSC Cruises will operate the MSC Musica from three additional homeports during its 2026–27 winter season in Brazil and South America.
Under updated deployment plans for the region, the ship will offer sailings from Paranaguá, Itajaí, and Rio de Janeiro between January and February. From these ports, the vessel will run seven-night itineraries that include stops in Búzios, Ilha Grande, and Ilhabela.
These cruises were originally scheduled to be operated by the MSC Lirica, whose South American season was cancelled earlier this year.
In total, six voyages will be operated by the MSC Musica. The ship had initially been scheduled to offer shorter cruises departing from Santos during this period. The deployment will also mark the first time the MSC Yacht Club will be available on cruises sailing from Paranaguá, as the vessel is due to undergo refurbishment later this year.
Alongside the 2,550-passenger MSC Musica, MSC will also position the MSC Virtuosa, MSC Divina, and MSC Splendida in South America for the upcoming winter season.
The MSC Virtuosa, which will be operating in the region for the first time, is scheduled to offer cruises departing from Santos, Maceió, and Salvador. Meanwhile, the MSC Divina will return to South America after more than ten years, with itineraries sailing from Santos, Balneário Camboriú, and Buenos Aires. The MSC Splendida, which had initially been planned to operate solely from Buenos Aires, will now also depart from Rio de Janeiro.
Similar to the upgrades previously completed on the MSC Magnifica and the MSC Poesia, the MSC Musica is set to undergo a modernization during its upcoming refit. The refurbishment will include the addition of MSC’s ship-within-a-ship MSC Yacht Club complex, along with new dining venues and updated public spaces.
