PNSC Expands Fleet with $193 Million Tanker Acquisition

Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) has approved the purchase of three secondhand oil tankers worth approximately $193 million, advancing its goal to double the national fleet to 30 vessels by 2026.
The acquisition includes two Aframax tankers, Lorex and Nafsika, priced at $74.5 million each, and one MR2 tanker, Stavenger Poseidon, purchased for $44.15 million. All three ships are expected to be delivered by December.
In addition to these purchases, PNSC has initiated the procurement process for 12 more tankers as part of its broader expansion plan.
“PNSC has accelerated its efforts to acquire new vessels to support Pakistan’s maritime growth and reduce dependence on foreign shipping,” the Ministry of Maritime Affairs said in a statement.
