Port of Brisbane Sets New Record With 1.74M TEU

The Port of Brisbane handled a record 1.74 million teu during the 2025/26 financial year as Queensland’s largest cargo port continued to invest in new infrastructure.
Overall trade volumes reached 38.64 million tonnes during the year, while Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd invested A$171 million ($122 million) in infrastructure improvements and property development across the port.
Work also continued on the proposed Channel Enhancement Project, a major long-term initiative designed to provide deeper and wider access to the port for larger vessels.
The latest container figures represent a new annual record for Brisbane. During the previous financial year, the port handled approximately 1.62 million teu.
