Princess Cruises Ends Local Sales Operations in Taiwan

Princess Cruises ended its sales operations in Taiwan on August 31, 2026, according to an article in Taiwan News.

Citing a local source, the publication reported that Princess is no longer accepting new reservations through its local operating entity.

Existing bookings will not be affected, and currently scheduled cruises will continue as planned. However, the cruise line is discontinuing the operations of its Taiwan branch.

According to Taiwan News, Princess is ending its direct presence in the market, including closing its local websites and social media platforms as well as its sales operations.

The cruise line had maintained a presence in Taiwan since 2013 and has a history of operating homeport cruises from Keelung.

Customers in Taiwan will now be able to make bookings through Princess Cruises’ international website or other overseas sales channels.

Cruise itineraries that are scheduled to call at Taiwanese ports will continue without changes.

Taiwan International Ports Corporation Chair Chou Yung-Hui told Taiwan News that the closure of Princess’ local operation is viewed as a strategic business decision.

He said Taiwan will continue looking for opportunities to grow its cruise market, noting that a significant number of cruise lines have recently made maiden calls at Keelung and Kaohsiung.

Taiwan News reported that the move comes as Carnival Corporation restructures its sales operations across Asia.

The company has also ended local operations in other markets, including China, Hong Kong and South Korea, while retaining its offices in Japan and Singapore.
