Rotterdam Returns to Service After Drydock Upgrades
Holland America Line’s Rotterdam has returned to operation following a two-week drydock in The Netherlands.
Passengers were able to experience the ship’s updates starting April 26, as it resumed its seven-day summer itineraries across Northern Europe.
According to the company, several areas onboard have been refreshed, including the ship’s live music venues. Billboard Onboard and the Rolling Stone Lounge now offer additional seating, while the Crow’s Nest has introduced a new stage for live performances.
Entertainment options have also been expanded outdoors, with a new stage and bandstand added to the Sea View Pool area on deck 9 aft.
Upgrades were made to accommodations as well, with 22 Vista Suites now fitted with sofa beds, allowing them to host up to four guests. New carpeting has been installed throughout staterooms, corridors, and public spaces, along with updated upholstery for furniture.
Additional improvements include refinished flooring and seating, along with updated wall coverings across various areas of the ship.
At the Greenhouse Spa & Salon, a redesigned hair-washing station has been introduced to enhance guest comfort. The Effy Jewelry retail space has also been refreshed with new flooring, lighting, wall finishes, and display units.
Finally, the casino has also seen changes, with approximately 20 new slot machines added, alongside updated seating, new carpeting, and televisions in the table games area.
