Royal Caribbean International has updated several upcoming cruise schedules for its Serenade of the Seas ship, affecting selected voyages through Alaska.

Guests booked on the June 22, 2025 sailing were notified that the itinerary will no longer include scenic cruising in the Inside Passage.

“As we plan our upcoming Alaskan adventure, we want to inform you about an update to our itinerary,” the cruise line stated in a message to passengers.

“To prevent any potential delays and ensure a timely arrival to Vancouver, British Columbia, we’ll sail directly to Vancouver instead of having a second scenic cruising day,” the statement explained.

The seven-night roundtrip voyage from Canada Place Cruise Terminal will continue to feature five Alaskan destinations, including scenic cruising through Tracy Arm Fjord and stops in Ketchikan, Skagway, Juneau, and Sitka.

The schedule for Ketchikan has also been revised, with Serenade of the Seas now set to dock at 11:30 AM and leave at 6:00 PM.

“Not to worry, you’ll still have plenty of time to explore everything this beautiful destination has to offer,” Royal Caribbean assured, apologizing for the short-notice modification.

Changes weren’t limited to just one cruise. The June 8, 2025 departure also saw schedule tweaks. After leaving Vancouver earlier this week, that voyage adjusted its timing for Ketchikan as well.

Originally planned for an 11:00 AM arrival and 8:00 PM departure, the 2,146-passenger ship is now expected to arrive at 9:00 AM and depart by 5:00 PM.

According to Royal Caribbean, this adjustment was made “to prevent potential delays and ensure a timely arrival to Vancouver.”

Serenade of the Seas is part of Royal Caribbean’s Radiance-class fleet. The 90,000-ton ship, built by Meyer Werft in Papenburg, Germany, entered service in 2003. It is one of four Royal Caribbean vessels currently operating in Alaska.
