Royal Caribbean Reroutes Liberty of The Seas to Canada

Royal Caribbean has modified the itinerary for Liberty of the Seas to avoid the projected path of Tropical Storm Jerry. The ship, originally set to depart Cape Liberty on October 11, 2025, for a five-night cruise to Bermuda, will now head north to Canada, featuring an overnight stop in Saint John, New Brunswick.
The cruise line said the change was made after careful consideration and consultation with Chief Meteorologist Craig Seltzer, who has been tracking a developing coastal low-pressure system alongside the tropical storm’s movement.
“The forecast tracks of these storms make it difficult to provide a safe and comfortable journey toward Bermuda,” the company wrote in a message to guests. “After reviewing all possible alternatives, we’ve chosen to reroute the voyage and enjoy an overnight stay in Saint John.”
Instead of visiting Bermuda’s Royal Naval Dockyard, the Liberty of the Seas will now operate a roundtrip sailing from Cape Liberty with Canadian ports of call. “We’re terribly sorry for this last-minute change caused by weather; your safety is our top priority,” Royal Caribbean added.
Tropical Storm Jerry is currently impacting the Lesser Antilles and is forecast to move north toward Bermuda in the coming days.
In a related weather update, Royal Caribbean also notified guests on Symphony of the Seas that embarkation will take place two hours earlier than scheduled due to worsening conditions near New York. The Oasis-class ship is departing on October 12, 2025, for a seven-night cruise to Florida and the Bahamas, visiting Port Canaveral, Perfect Day at CocoCay, and Nassau.
