Royal Caribbean's Grandeur of the Seas Kicks Off Latin America Season
Grandeur of the Seas arrived in Latin America in May to begin Royal Caribbean International’s summer season in the region.
The 1996-built ship has taken over the cruise line’s year-round program from the area and is now operating a series of sailings from Colón, Panama, and Cartagena de Indias, Colombia. The itineraries, previously offered by Serenade of the Seas during the 2025-26 winter season, focus on destinations in the Southern Caribbean.
A key feature of the deployment is the ABC Islands, with calls to Oranjestad in Aruba, Kralendijk in Bonaire and Willemstad in Curaçao. Royal Caribbean said the ship is also offering a range of onboard experiences tailored to the local market.
Grandeur of the Seas is scheduled to continue sailing from Panama and Colombia for almost a full year before departing on a repositioning cruise in late April 2026. That open-jaw sailing to San Juan will come ahead of a summer season based in Puerto Rico, with cruises visiting additional Southern Caribbean destinations. The 1,950-guest ship is then expected to return to Latin America in November 2027 for a winter deployment.
Before starting its Latin America program, Grandeur of the Seas had been operating short cruises from the Port of Tampa Bay. The Vision-class ship completed its Florida schedule with a repositioning voyage to Colón, visiting destinations in the Western and Southern Caribbean along the way. After leaving the Gulf Coast, the seven-night itinerary called at George Town in the Cayman Islands, Oranjestad in Aruba and Willemstad in Curaçao.
Currently the oldest vessel in Royal Caribbean’s fleet, *Grandeur *is part of the Vision class and first entered service in 1996. Built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France, the 74,140-ton ship has undergone several major refurbishments over the years. Its amenities include specialty restaurants, a theater, a glass-covered pool deck and a spa.
