Royal Caribbean has officially announced Perfect Day Mexico, a new vacation destination set to debut in fall 2027.

“We have spent the last 50 years shattering perceptions around cruising to transform into a global vacation brand for all generations. Now, we’re bringing our demonstrated history of unparalleled service and revolutionary innovation – everything our vacationers know and love – into our collection of destinations that offer more locally inspired perfect days and beachfront getaways,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean.

The upcoming resort-style destination will be located near the Costa Maya cruise port, which the cruise line acquired in 2023.

Perfect Day Mexico is bigger and bolder than anything we have done to date. This destination will be the ultimate vacation for families, and we cannot wait to welcome adventurers from around the world to Mexico for an experience only Royal Caribbean can provide,” Bayley added.

Key Attractions of Perfect Day Mexico:

  • Loco Waterpark: Adventure-seekers can look forward to over 30 high-intensity waterslides spread across five towers, including the tallest slides in both North and South America. The waterpark also includes hydrolaunch slides, a sombrero-shaped ride, a wave pool, kid-friendly slides, and action-filled pools.
  • Splash Cove: Perfect for all ages, Splash Cove features the world’s longest lazy river with fun twists, float-up bars, and convenient tube cupholders. At its heart lies a massive 100,000-square-foot pool. Families will also love Royal Caribbean’s largest-ever Splashaway Bay and the new Splashaway Cabanas for a relaxing base.
  • El Hideaway: This exclusive adults-only area invites guests aged 18 and up to enjoy a lively atmosphere with a swim-up bar, zero-entry pool, and live DJ music.
  • Costa Beach Club: For travelers seeking an upgraded beach day, this luxurious area offers heated infinity pools, elevated dining options, and private cabanas complete with personal attendants and upscale amenities.
  • Chill Beach North & South: Guests can relax along nearly two miles of pristine coastline, with complimentary loungers, umbrellas, and towels available at both beach zones and pools.
  • Fiesta Plaza: The energy-filled entry plaza welcomes guests with music, dancing, and a culturally rich atmosphere. A standout feature is the Tipsy Sombrero bar, topped with the world’s largest sombrero and serving up margaritas, beer, and more.
  • Dining & Culture: With 12 regionally inspired dining venues—most included in the cruise fare—and 24 bars (six of them swim-up), guests can indulge in everything from local flavors to refreshing drinks. Live mariachi bands, Mexican artwork, and artisan markets will enrich the cultural experience.

When it opens in late 2027, Perfect Day Mexico will be featured on Western Caribbean cruise itineraries departing from Galveston, New Orleans, and various Florida ports. These sailings will become available for booking this fall.

“We’re committed to pushing the boundaries of what a modern-day vacation can be – delivering innovative experiences that create unforgettable memories for our guests and value for the communities we visit,” said Jason Liberty, president and CEO of Royal Caribbean Group.

To realize this vision, Royal Caribbean is working closely with local authorities and the community to ensure the destination is sustainable and mutually beneficial. The Costa Maya port will continue operating during construction, and a new guest welcome center is being developed to help travelers explore Mahahual and its surroundings more easily.
