NCLH CEO Chidsey to Meet Investors After Elliott Contact
Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings’ newly appointed President and CEO, John W. Chidsey, has confirmed that the company has engaged with activist investor Elliott Management and is launching a two-week investor roadshow.
Speaking during the company’s fourth quarter and full-year earnings call on Monday, Chidsey addressed the recent contact with Elliott. “We have been in touch with Elliott, like we have with all of our shareholders,” Chidsey said.
He added that meeting investors face-to-face is now a priority. “We’re literally hitting the road this week and next week,” he said.
Chidsey explained that connecting directly with shareholders was one of his first objectives upon taking the role.
“That’s one of the first things I wanted to do when I stepped in, go talk to shareholders and get their perspective on what we’ve done well and clearly what we haven’t done well,” he said.
He emphasized that Elliott is being treated like any other investor in the company.
“Hearing from Elliott is just like any other shareholder, we’re very interested in what they have to say and their thoughts on how we better drive long-term shareholder value,” Chidsey continued.
