Shanghai Jinghan Shipping is set to grow its fleet by adding up to two new chemical tankers, with construction to take place at a Chinese shipyard.

The company, currently managing a fleet of eight chemical tankers, has signed a deal with Zhoushan Dashenzhou Shipbuilding, a division of Yangfan Group. The agreement includes one confirmed 7,300 dwt duplex stainless steel tanker, with an option for a second vessel.

While no timeline has been provided for delivery, Zhoushan Dashenzhou has also recently won an order from Italian company Marnavi for a 13,000 dwt stainless steel tanker.

Founded in 2026, Shanghai Jinghan operates in international markets, the Taiwan Strait, and domestic oil and chemical transportation. The company is majority-owned by Dalian Jinghan Technology Development, which holds a 50.5% stake, with the remainder owned by Dalian Port Investment and Financing Holding.
