On May 30, four vessels were driven aground by severe weather conditions along the coast near the Port of Chittagong in the Bay of Bengal. Despite the dramatic incidents, no injuries or environmental damage were reported.

The vessels were impacted by wind speeds reaching up to 64 kilometers per hour, combined with heavy rainfall and turbulent sea conditions. The Bay of Bengal, known for its intense monsoon weather, frequently sees ships struggle under such circumstances.

Among the affected vessels was the tugboat Navimar-3, which had been moored near Anwara due to unpaid fuel charges. It was forced ashore along with the barge Mermaid-3.

Further north, the tanker Al Herem also ran aground after being overpowered by the rough seas. Additionally, B-LPG Sophia, a tanker that had remained anchored at the Port of Chittagong since suffering an explosion and fire in October of the previous year, was dislodged and pushed ashore.

Authorities confirmed that none of the groundings caused harm to crew members or led to any pollution.
