On September 24, the Liberian-flagged car carrier Jisu Fortune struck the Pierre Vandamme lock at the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium. Authorities confirmed no injuries resulted from the incident.

The collision happened as the vessel was departing, when a sudden gust of wind pushed it off course. Both the lock and the ship were damaged, forcing the Jisu Fortune to remain in place for several hours. During that time, the shipping channel was shut, limiting traffic in and out of the inner harbor.

An investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the event. The vessel remains berthed in Zeebrugge pending inspection.
