Virgin Voyages Launches Valentine’s Day Breakup Hotline
Virgin Voyages has introduced a new Valentine’s-themed campaign called the Breakup Line, a hotline where people can leave messages ending ties with anything that no longer fits their life, according to a company press release.
The line will be available from February 3 through February 28, 2026.
“At its core, this is about realizing you don’t have to settle, not in love, not in travel, and certainly not in how you’re treated,” said Billy Bohan Chinique, vice president of marketing and digital innovation at Virgin Voyages.
“The Breakup Line is a release valve. A safe space. And a reminder that there is a better situation(ship).”
The Breakup Line functions as an answering machine voiced by Chris Burns, also known online as @PhatCarrieBradshaw. Callers are encouraged to leave messages breaking up with anything from partners who never plan dates to loyalty programs filled with blackout restrictions and fine print.
The campaign also connects with Virgin Voyages’ Enhanced Status Match program, which lets travelers transfer existing loyalty status from more than 35 cruise lines, airlines, or hotel programs and receive upgraded benefits immediately, without earning thresholds or blackout dates.
Virgin Voyages framed the initiative as part of its broader message about raising expectations, highlighting its adult-only cruises with the promise of no kids onboard, no early-morning buffet lines, and no loyalty systems that leave guests feeling undervalued.
Select voicemails, shared only with permission, may be featured on the company’s social media channels as part of its Get Into a Better Situation(ship) Valentine’s campaign.
Callers can participate by dialing 754-237-7812 and leaving a message.
