AIDAmar Begins Winter in the Far North Cruise From Hamburg
On Saturday, March 7th, AIDAmar departed on its first sailing of the winter season, beginning a 14-day voyage on the “Winter in the Far North” itinerary.
The cruise follows the ship’s return to Hamburg after completing a 48-day journey through South America. Once passengers from the previous voyage disembarked, new guests boarded at Cruise Center Altona for the trip to Norway’s winter landscapes.
During this voyage, AIDAmar will only visit Norwegian ports after leaving Hamburg. The itinerary includes eight ports of call, with overnight stays scheduled in two of them. These extended stops allow guests to take part in evening excursions and explore the destinations after dark.
The itinerary is especially popular as it offers classic winter experiences such as dog sledding with huskies and guided snow hikes. The route also increases the chances of witnessing the Northern Lights.
Earlier this season, AIDAmar operated the “Great Winter Break Brazil for Carnival” cruise for the first time. AIDA Cruises has confirmed that the itinerary will return during the 2027–2028 winter season, with the ship scheduled to operate the voyage again from January 30 to March 18, 2028.
The cruise featured sunny destinations across the Atlantic, including 19 ports in six countries and 26 days at sea. Nine of the stops were in Brazil with a highlight of the itinerary being an overnight stay during the world-famous Carnival in Rio de Janeiro.
AIDAmar will continue sailing from Hamburg until April 11, 2026. After completing two “Winter in the Far North” cruises, the ship will operate a six-day Easter voyage to Scotland.
Later in the fall, the vessel will undergo a period out of service for modernization as part of the AIDA Evolution program.
