Ambassador Cruises to Show FIFA World Cup 2026 at Sea
Ambassador Cruise Line has announced that all matches from the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be broadcast across its fleet this summer. The UK-based operator has secured the rights through IMG, enabling full tournament coverage via Sport 24 Special Event channels on both Ambience and Ambition.
The tournament will run from June 11 to July 19 across Canada, Mexico, and the United States. With both England and Scotland set to compete, the event is expected to draw strong interest from British passengers sailing during this period.
Alongside live screenings, selected games will be shown in shared spaces throughout the ships. These viewings will be supported by themed activities and events aimed at creating an engaging matchday experience for guests.
Bob McGowan, Chief Experience Officer at Ambassador Cruise Line, emphasized the importance of entertainment onboard.
“The FIFA World Cup 2026 is one of those rare global events that brings people together across generations. By showing every match on Ambience and Ambition, our guests can enjoy their cruise without missing out on the moments that matter most,” he said.
IMG’s Commercial Director Kate Garden said the collaboration will help replicate the excitement of the World Cup onboard, allowing passengers to watch matches in a variety of settings, including lounges, open decks, and private cabins.
Ambassador Cruise Line joins several other operators offering full tournament coverage at sea, including Holland America Line, Princess Cruises, P\&O Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line, and MSC Cruises.
With multiple cruise lines embracing the event, ships this summer are set to become floating fan zones, combining the experience of cruising with the energy of one of the world’s biggest sporting events.
