Carnival Cruise Line has updated its HUB App to include a new feature that lets guests place coffee orders in advance for pick-up.

Brand Ambassador John Heald shared the news, noting that the feature is already available on select ships and will gradually be introduced across the rest of the fleet.

With this update, travelers can pre-purchase their coffee directly through the app and simply pick it up from the café, avoiding the wait.

Carnival stated that the new option applies to select coffee drinks and is designed to help guests bypass the queue.

“The reason we are doing this is to reduce the lines at our Java Blue Café locations,” Heald said on social media.

“There are times when it’s very busy because of the brilliant coffee,” he added.

Heald clarified that the move is not intended to cut staff at the Java Blue Cafés or elsewhere on the ships.

“It’s convenient for people who wish to get an express coffee. It is certainly not something that you have to do, and it has definitely helped the line,” he explained.

The pick-up service is primarily offered in the morning hours, which are typically the busiest times for the onboard coffee spots.

It’s important to note that Carnival’s beverage packages — including Cheers! and Drinks on Us! — do not cover the new coffee pick-up feature.

“Coffee is still part of Cheers!, and with so many people purchasing it because of its brilliant value, we needed to have an extra place where coffee can be open for those who do not have Cheers!,” Heald said.

Guests with a beverage package can still get their coffee, but they must order it directly at the café counter, he clarified.

“(The line) is not likely to be a long one because of the express service we now have. So, actually, we are helping you get your coffee quicker,” he added.

In a related update, Heald also noted that the HUB App now sends push notifications for messages on most ships.

“You do not even need to have the app open, but you will hear the sound and then see the message,” he said.
