Celebrity Reflection Turns Weekend Sailing Into Sea Days
Celebrity Reflection spent the weekend on a cruise to nowhere after poor weather disrupted its planned itinerary in Florida and the Bahamas.
The ship departed Fort Lauderdale on Friday, January 30, 2026, for a three-night voyage that was originally scheduled to include stops in Key West and Bimini. Passengers learned of the changes shortly after boarding, through a notice delivered directly to their staterooms.
“As previously shared by our Captain, along with our Chief Meteorologist Craig Setzer, we have been closely monitoring the advancing weather front through the Florida Keys and the Bahamas,” Celebrity said.
“As the system advanced more quickly than expected, the onset of stronger winds is expected to happen,” the statement continued.
“This earlier arrival of adverse conditions makes both our stay in Key West, and our departure unsafe, and we had to cancel our visit,” Celebrity explained.
The planned call in Bimini was also cancelled after wind conditions worsened significantly, leading to a port closure.
“While this wasn’t the original itinerary planned, our dedicated crew is here to ensure that your experience remains special and memorable despite the weather impact,” the company added.
Celebrity noted that additional onboard programming and activities were arranged so guests could still enjoy both unexpected sea days.
“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we have no doubt your time with us will be nothing short of amazing.”
Celebrity Reflection returned to Port Everglades as planned on February 2, 2026.
The 3,030-passenger ship is currently sailing from Fort Lauderdale for the winter season, offering a mix of three- and four-night cruises to destinations in Florida and the Bahamas. This week’s voyage includes stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay and the Nassau Cruise Port as part of a four-night itinerary.
