Costa Favolosa Begins 2025–26 Cruise Season in South America
The Costa Favolosa arrived in Santos earlier this month, officially launching Costa Cruises’ 2025–26 season in Brazil and South America. After completing a transatlantic voyage from Italy that began in early November, the 2011 built ship docked at the port on November 23, 2025.
As one of two Costa vessels sailing in the region this season, the Favolosa is currently offering short itineraries to Brazilian destinations such as Ilhabela, Porto Belo and Balneário Camboriú. These three and four night cruises continue through mid December, after which the ship will reposition to Buenos Aires.
Once based in Argentina, the Favolosa will operate longer itineraries to ports in Uruguay and Brazil, including Balneário Camboriú, Montevideo and Ilha Grande. The eight and nine night sailings will also call at Rio de Janeiro, where embarkation will be available.
The Costa Diadema is expected to join the Favolosa soon, following its assignment as a floating hotel during a climate summit in Belém. As the second Costa vessel in the region, the 2014 built ship will run cruises from Santos and Itajaí.
Its season begins with a set of three and four night trips to Ilhabela, followed by weeklong itineraries to Argentina and Uruguay. These longer cruises include stops in Montevideo and Buenos Aires, plus three days at sea in the South Atlantic.
The Favolosa is scheduled to return to Europe in March, while the Diadema will remain in South America until late April.
The 2025–26 South American cruise season began in late October with the arrival of MSC Preziosa. Three additional MSC vessels - the MSC Seaview, MSCFantasia and MSC Sinfonia - have since joined the lineup, and the MSCArmonia is en route to begin regular Brazilian sailings in December.
