Costa Serena arrived in Nha Trang earlier this month, marking the first cruise ship call to Vietnam in 2026. The vessel docked at the Ana Marina International Yacht Harbor with more than 2,960 passengers onboard.

According to Khan Hoa Online Newspaper, the Costa Cruises ship brought mainly European travelers to the destination as part of its Asia-focused cruise program aimed at international markets.

The stop in Nha Trang formed part of a 14-night voyage that departed from Hong Kong on December 19, 2025. Sailing on an open-jaw itinerary that ends in Singapore, the cruise also included calls in destinations across Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and Thailand.

Cung Quynh Anh, deputy director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Khanh Hoa province, said the arrival of Costa Serena was an encouraging development for the local tourism sector.

Nhân Dân reported that Costa Serena is the first of eight cruise ships scheduled to visit Khanh Hoa province during the first two months of the year. Authorities expect the vessels to bring around 13,500 cruise passengers to the region.

Ahead of its Asian winter deployment, Costa Serena underwent an extensive refurbishment at a shipyard in China. Built in 2007, the ship was upgraded with new specialty dining venues, refreshed staterooms, and additional onboard features.

Now preparing to reposition to the Western Hemisphere later this year, CostaSerena is currently operating a series of 14- to 28-night cruises throughout the Far East and Southeast Asia.

Following a summer season focused on regional markets, the 3,012-guest vessel is scheduled to embark on a world cruise sailing between Japan and Argentina. Departing from Tokyo and ending in Buenos Aires, the 65-night voyage will mark Serena’s departure from Asia after more than ten years of operations in the region. Once in Argentina, the ship will begin a winter season in South America before repositioning to Europe for the 2027 summer season.
