Costa Serena Makes First Call to Sihanoukville, Cambodia
Costa Serena has completed its inaugural visit to the port of Sihanoukville in Cambodia.
According to local media reports, the Costa Cruises vessel brought around 2,890 passengers to the destination during the call.
The ship arrived at Sihanoukville Autonomous Port on Feb. 4, 2026, as part of an eight-night sailing that departed from Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Cruise Terminal in late January.
Costa Serena is currently operating a range of seven- to 21-night itineraries across Southeast Asia and the Far East. The call forms part of the ship’s final winter deployment in Asia, where it is sailing itineraries aimed at international markets.
Following an additional summer season in the region focused on local markets, Costa Serena is scheduled to reposition to the Western Hemisphere for the 2026-27 season. Beginning in December, the 2007-built vessel will operate three- to nine-night cruises from Buenos Aires in Argentina, Montevideo in Uruguay, and Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
The ship is then expected to return to Europe for the summer of 2027, offering voyages from ports in Italy, Spain, France, and Greece.
Since relocating to Asia in 2015, Costa Serena has been deployed in the region year-round for the past decade. During that time, the vessel has served both international guests and domestic markets, including China, Taiwan, Japan, and India.
Before starting its farewell season in Asia, the ship underwent a significant refurbishment in China. The modernization program included the introduction of new dining concepts, refreshed staterooms, and an updated design aimed at delivering a more contemporary onboard experience.
In recent weeks, Sihanoukville has also hosted cruise ships from other major brands, including Holland America Line and Norwegian Cruise Line.
