The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) has unveiled “Shore to Ship: Elevating the Local Cruise Experience,” a two-day cruise tourism symposium set for September 29–30, 2025, at The Rif at Mangrove Beach Corendon, Curaçao.

According to CTB, the gathering is designed to bring together Curaçao’s cruise community to learn, network, and raise service standards across the sector. Timed to coincide with World Tourism Day, the program features a keynote, expert panel, and hands-on training for frontline teams.

Who’s speaking and what’s planned?

  • Keynote: Antoinette Wright, chief supply chain officer, North America, Carnival Corporation, will discuss cruise market trends, shifting guest expectations, and practical ways destinations like Curaçao can stay ahead.
  • Panel discussion: Immediately after the keynote, representatives from the cruise industry, port authority, government, shore excursion providers, and CTB will explore “From Shore to Ship – Delivering a Seamless, Authentic and Impactful Cruise Experience.” The conversation will focus on collaboration, guest satisfaction, and maximizing local economic benefits.

Training workshops for frontlines

Led by the Aquila Center for Cruise Excellence, three practical workshops will run during the event:

  • Tour and Guest Experiences
  • Service Excellence for Frontlines
  • Driver Excellence

These sessions target frontline personnel—including retail staff, attraction hosts, tour operators, bus drivers, and taxi drivers—with the aim of strengthening service culture, sparking innovation, and enhancing Curaçao’s overall visitor experience. Participants who complete the workshops will receive a certificate recognized by the Aquila Center for Cruise Excellence.
