Disney Cruise Line has officially taken delivery of Disney Adventure, the biggest cruise ship the company has ever operated.

The vessel was handed over during a ceremony at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, marking its transition from the construction phase to fleet service. With this addition, Disney Cruise Line now operates eight ships.

Unlike most of Disney’s fleet, which primarily sails in the Caribbean or Europe, Disney Adventure will be based in Asia. The ship is set to launch operations from Singapore, with its maiden voyage scheduled for March 2026.

Disney Adventure is now one step closer to calling Singapore home,” the cruise line said in a social media announcement. “The Maiden Voyage sets sail March 2026, welcoming guests on board for magical moments at sea.”

Disney has confirmed the ship will remain homeported in Singapore for at least five years, offering three and four night sailings. This will be the cruise line’s first extended deployment in Southeast Asia.

At around 208,000 gross tons, Disney Adventure dwarfs the rest of the fleet. Disney’s Wish class ships measure roughly 144,000 gross tons and carry just under 4,000 passengers, while Disney Adventure is expected to accommodate about 6,000 guests, making it approximately 45 percent larger than the next biggest Disney ship.

The vessel also has an unusual backstory. Originally constructed as Global Dream for another cruise company that later went bankrupt, the nearly finished ship was acquired by Disney Cruise Line and redesigned to fit the brand’s style and experience standards.

With delivery now complete, Disney will move into the final outfitting stage, which includes finishing interior theming, conducting system trials and preparing thousands of crew members ahead of the ship’s 2026 debut.
