Four Filipino Crew Deported From Jewel Of The Seas

On Friday, September 26, 2025, four Filipino crew members serving aboard Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas were deported by U.S. authorities shortly after the ship docked in Fort Lauderdale.
According to an anonymous crew member, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) asked the four men to meet officials when the vessel arrived. All were deported later that same day.
What has unsettled their colleagues is the lack of explanation provided. The reporting crew member noted that the men were not escorted off by law enforcement, suggesting the case may not have been tied to a crime. However, CBP reportedly offered no details, leaving both the deported seafarers and their coworkers uncertain about the reasons.
The four individuals all worked in the Food and Beverage department - one on the bar team, one in the restaurant, and two in the galley.
It remains unclear whether the deportations stemmed from visa complications, documentation problems, or shifts in CBP policy. For now, speculation continues, with many crew voicing concerns about transparency and consistency in how such matters are handled at U.S. ports.
