Harbour Princess Grounds Near BC, Escorted to Port Safely

The excursion vessel Harbour Princess required an escort back to its berth in Coal Harbour after running aground in Burrard Inlet near Point Atkinson, British Columbia, on 3rd August. At the time of the incident, the vessel was carrying 58 passengers.
According to reports, the ship struck a submerged rock in Starboat Cove, causing a loud impact that startled passengers—some of whom lost their balance. Two individuals were injured in the incident.
The crew issued a distress signal around 11:30 a.m. local time, triggering a coordinated emergency response headed by the Canadian Coast Guard. While the vessel did not take on water, it was escorted safely to Coal Harbour. One of the injured passengers was transported to hospital for treatment.
It has been reported that the Harbour Princess grounded during high tide, and there are questions about whether the hazard was properly indicated on official nautical charts.
