Holland America Line has introduced a new 26-day itinerary aboard NieuwAmsterdam, departing Vancouver on October 7, 2027, and concluding in San Antonio (Santiago), Chile. The sailing forms part of the cruise line’s Legendary Voyages collection.

Titled the “Inca Coast: Mexico & Latin America Legendary Voyage,” the itinerary traces the Pacific coastline from North America down into South America. The journey blends major city visits and relaxing beach stops with immersive opportunities to explore ancient cultures, tropical rainforests, and dramatic volcanic landscapes.

“We know our guests want experiences that allow them to connect deeply with the places they visit—through history, culture and wildlife,” said Paul Grigsby, Holland America Line’s vice president of itinerary planning and deployment.

“The Inca Coast is one of the most captivating regions on the planet, and we shaped this itinerary to offer guests a meaningful way to explore it.”

The voyage begins along the California coast, with calls in San Francisco and San Diego, before heading south to Cabo San Lucas and Huatulco in Mexico. From there, Nieuw Amsterdam will visit Puerto Quetzal in Guatemala, offering access to Mayan archaeological sites, the colonial city of Antigua, and the Pacaya volcano.

After stops in Puntarenas (Puerto Caldera), Costa Rica, the ship will cross the Equator en route to Ecuador. An overnight stay in Manta (Quito), Ecuador, follows, providing guests the option to explore destinations such as the Amazon, the Galápagos Islands, and the Ecuadorian rainforest.

The cruise continues down the Peruvian coastline with an overnight in Callao (Lima), as well as calls at Salaverry (Trujillo) and General San Martín (Pisco). Following stargazing opportunities off Arica, the voyage concludes at Coquimbo (La Serena), Chile.

While onboard, guests can take part in enrichment programs, enjoy regionally inspired entertainment, and sample dining experiences designed to reflect the flavors and traditions of the Pacific coast.
