Margaritaville at Sea has announced that the Margaritaville at Sea Islander now features a dedicated tattoo studio, introduced earlier this year and highlighted in a recent social media update.

Previously, guests could get tattoos in the ship’s spa, but the new PermanentReminder studio offers a full-time tattoo artist and a purpose-built space.

According to passenger comments on social media, appointments are made once onboard, with tattoo prices starting at $75. Guests also noted that pre-purchased spa credits can be applied toward tattoo services.

Travelers can select from a range of pre-designed artwork, including Margaritaville-inspired themes, or request a custom piece.

With the addition of Permanent Reminder, Margaritaville at Sea becomes one of the few mainstream cruise brands—alongside Virgin Voyages—to operate an onboard tattoo studio.

The Islander, the second vessel in the Margaritaville at Sea fleet, sails year-round from Port Tampa Bay. Originally constructed for Costa Cruises in the late 1990s, the 2,100-guest ship was acquired in 2023 and underwent an extensive refurbishment in Europe before being christened in mid-2024 by Savannah Buffett, daughter of the late Jimmy Buffett.

The ship’s deployment plan includes four- to ten-night itineraries visiting Florida and Caribbean destinations such as Key West, Progreso, Cozumel and the Cayman Islands.

Margaritaville at Sea is also preparing to launch its third ship, the Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber, in early 2027. Currently sailing as Costa Fortuna, the vessel will introduce the brand to PortMiami with three- to eight-night cruises to the Bahamas and Caribbean.
