MSC Cancels Euribia Repositioning Cruise Over Security

MSC Cruises has confirmed the cancellation of a repositioning voyage onboard the MSC Euribia that was scheduled for early 2026.
The company explained that the decision was made due to ongoing security risks in the Red Sea. Originally, the ship was set to conclude its 2025-26 Middle East winter season with a 29-night Grand Voyage departing Dubai on April 4, 2026, and ending in Kiel, Germany.
The itinerary included stops across the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Jordan, Egypt, Italy, Spain, Portugal, France, and the United Kingdom.
“Considering that the ongoing geopolitical situation still does not allow us to guarantee a safe transit across the Red Sea and the Suez Canal, we had to cancel MSC Euribia’s Grand Voyage,” MSC said in a letter to affected guests.
“Your safety and wellbeing are our number one priority, and we want to give you the certainty and peace of mind that you need before embarking on your cruise,” the company added.
Options For Guests
MSC is providing three alternatives for those booked on the cancelled sailing:
- Full Refund: Guests may cancel and receive a complete refund to their original form of payment.
- Transfer to Another Grand Voyage: Bookings can be moved to a different MSC Grand Voyage of similar length, with fares matched to the most favorable rate.
- Rebook Any Cruise: Guests may transfer their booking to any available MSC cruise without a change fee, paying any fare differences. If the new fare is lower, MSC will refund the difference.
Passengers are also advised to contact their insurance providers for reimbursement of related expenses, including flights, hotels, and transfers.
“We know that you spent time planning your cruise and sincerely apologize for any disappointment this may cause,” MSC said.
