Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced the return of a well-known team member, welcoming Nick Cosslett back as Cruise Director aboard Borealis.

Nick first joined the company in 2012 as a crew member, with his very first voyage taking place on Balmoral. The ship remains his personal favorite, as it was there that he first discovered his passion for a career at sea.

A key moment in his early years was participating in a world cruise in 2013, during which he met many loyal guests who continue to sail with Fred. Olsen today. What was initially intended to be a single contract before pursuing an acting career quickly evolved into a long-term vocation.

“I completely fell in love with the onboard lifestyle,” Nick shared, recalling the point at which he realized cruising would become his chosen profession.

Throughout his career, Nick has become known for his enthusiasm, confident stage presence, and ability to connect with guests. He says that listening to passengers’ life stories continues to motivate him, while leading and mentoring his team is one of his main focuses.

Having received guidance from Cruise Directors and Hotel Directors earlier in his career, Nick now places strong emphasis on supporting and developing the next generation of onboard entertainers and leaders.

When not coordinating activities or hosting events, guests may spot Nick taking part in deck games or entertaining audiences in the Neptune Lounge, where he feels most comfortable performing on stage.

Looking ahead, he is particularly excited about returning to the Norwegian fjords and revisiting the distinctive destinations Fred. Olsen ships are known for accessing. His ultimate travel goal, however, remains Alaska, which he hopes to experience in the future.

With Nick’s return, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines continues to reinforce its onboard leadership with experienced and familiar figures, a quality many returning guests value highly.
