Riviera Travel Expands Into Asia with Mekong Sailings

Riviera Travel has revealed plans to expand into Asia, announcing that the Riviera Alba will begin cruising the Mekong River in 2027.

This follows the company’s recent unveiling of the world’s first cruise ship dedicated solely to solo travelers. Bookings for 2027 are now open, with early savings of up to 50 percent on select itineraries and a two-for-one air credit promotion.

“Our expansion to the Mekong brings our personal, award-winning approach to one of the world’s most enchanting rivers. We are excited to invite our returning guests, along with travelers who have yet to experience our product, to join us on this incredible journey,” he added.

The Riviera Alba will offer sweeping river views and an open-air sun deck complete with a pool and jacuzzi. Guests can also expect amenities such as a main restaurant with both international and Asian cuisine, a lounge bar, spa, library, coffee and tea lounge, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a high staff-to-guest ratio.

The new “Vietnam, Cambodia and Mekong River Cruise” will feature 14 guided excursions, including visits to Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, ancient temples, and local markets, as well as calls to smaller, less-traveled ports.

The 13-night itinerary, priced from $5,049 per person, is available between September and December 2027.

Riviera has also opened bookings for its 2027 season across Europe, which includes two new solo sailings: “Budapest to the Black Sea” and “Cruise the Heart of Europe” along the Rhine, Main, and Danube.

Guests booking by November 16, 2025, can save up to 50 percent on brochure rates for 2027 cruises. In addition, a two-for-one airfare credit - worth up to $1,500 per traveler - is available on select 2026 departures when flights are booked through Riviera. The air promotion runs through December 5, 2025.
