Royal Caribbean International has announced a change to the homeport for Brilliance of the Seas on its August 10, 2026 Mediterranean sailing.

In a notice sent to booked guests, the cruise line confirmed that the Radiance-class ship will now depart from Trieste rather than Ravenna.

“Before your vacation begins, we wanted to inform you about some changes to our itinerary. A construction delay has led to a berthing conflict in Ravenna, Italy,” Royal Caribbean said in its statement.

“As a result of this change, we’ll now begin our European summer adventure in Trieste, Italy, instead,” the company added.

Departing from its revised homeport, Brilliance of the Seas will still operate a seven-night itinerary through the Adriatic and Mediterranean.

Royal Caribbean confirmed that no other changes have been made to the original cruise plan, which will still conclude in Civitavecchia. The open-jaw itinerary includes calls in Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, and Italy, with scheduled stops in Koper, Split, Dubrovnik, Kotor, and Naples.

“We know it’s not the original itinerary we planned, and while we’re excited for our modified journey adventure together, we completely understand your concern regarding the changes to our sailing,” the cruise line stated.

“You may already have arranged transportation, and we know this unexpected change may cause inconvenience,” the statement continued.

To support affected guests, Royal Caribbean said it will reimburse non-refundable transportation costs purchased in advance, including airfare, train tickets, and rental cars. The reimbursement will cover up to $200 per guest for domestic travel changes and up to $400 per guest for international arrangements.
