Silver Nova Begins 47-Day Grand Voyage Around Australia

Silversea Cruises has announced the departure of its Silver Nova for a 47-day Grand Voyage circumnavigating Australia, giving guests the chance to explore 23 destinations across the continent and beyond.

“We’re delighted to return to Australia once again with the Silver Nova, the first in our innovative Nova Class and the most luxurious ship to sail in the region,” said Bert Hernandez, President of Silversea.

“Our 47-day, 23-destination ‘Grand Voyage Australia 2025’ represents the uniquely immersive means of travel that we offer our guests here at Silversea. Taking in many of Australia’s iconic cities and hidden gems, the journey will include an array of exclusive experiences and events, crafted by our experts to connect guests with the country’s rich culture,” Hernandez added.

He continued, “With almost 170 shore excursions, including two S.A.L.T. culinary experiences hosted by renowned local chefs in Adelaide and Hobart, we will host two exclusive events available only to guests on the Grand Voyage in Port Douglas and Adelaide.”

Departing from Melbourne, the Silver Nova will visit Eden, Sydney (overnight), Newcastle, Brisbane, Mooloolaba, K’gari, Shute Harbor (Whitsunday Islands), Townsville, Cairns (overnight), Port Douglas, and Cooktown, before reaching Darwin, where the ship will remain overnight.

The second leg of the voyage includes a visit to Benoa (Bali, Indonesia) for an overnight call, before the ship returns to Australia for an extended western and southern itinerary. Guests will enjoy an overnight stay in Fremantle (Perth), with further stops in Busselton, Albany, Esperance, Port Lincoln, Adelaide (overnight), Kangaroo Island, Robe, and Hobart (Tasmania) (overnight), before returning to Melbourne on November 30, 2025.

Among the many shore experiences are:

  • Adelaide – A S.A.L.T. Journey through Adelaide’s Botanic Garden with a celebrated South Australian chef.
  • Hobart, Tasmania – Tasmania’s Wild Tastes with hunting, fishing, and open-fire cooking by Chef Analiese Gregory.

Guests will also enjoy a Bon Voyage luncheon at Albert Park Lake, as well as two exclusive Grand Voyage events:

  • Port Douglas (October 30): An evening experience in the Wet Tropics of North Queensland at Flames of the Forest, a candlelit rainforest venue offering an award-winning dining experience beneath a black silk canopy.
  • Adelaide (November 22): A dinner curated by Chef Tom Tillbury amid the gardens and architecture of Adelaide’s Botanic Gardens Botanical Sanctuary.
