Spectrum of the Seas China Sailings Updated Through 2027
Royal Caribbean International has confirmed additional itinerary adjustments for upcoming Spectrum of the Seas cruises sailing from China.
After removing Japan from several sailings in December, the cruise line introduced further schedule revisions earlier this month. The affected voyages are set to depart from Shanghai between May 2026 and April 2027.
As part of the changes, Royal Caribbean has cancelled calls to multiple Japanese ports, including Okinawa, Fukuoka, Nagasaki, and Kagoshima. Instead, the updated itineraries will now focus on destinations in South Korea, with planned stops in Jeju, Busan, Incheon, and Yeosu.
“We’re excited to bring you this refreshed experience and appreciate your understanding, as itinerary planning is an ongoing process that requires cruises to have a certain level of flexibility, modifications can occur at any time,” Royal Caribbean said.
“We’re continually exploring new opportunities to provide guests with more destination choices and experiences around the world,” the company added.
Royal Caribbean noted that any pre-paid shore excursions booked for ports that have been removed will be automatically refunded. The shore excursions team will also work to reschedule any impacted tours, and any excursions that cannot be rebooked will be cancelled and refunded to the original form of payment.
“While some will be happy about this change, we know others will not, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience this may cause,” the company said.
Guests who no longer wish to travel on the revised itineraries were encouraged to contact Royal Caribbean or their travel advisors.
Some Spectrum sailings will still include Japan, however, including the August 8, 2026 departure. That eight-night roundtrip cruise from Shanghai includes an overnight stay in Osaka, along with calls in Nagoya, Kobe, and Tokyo.
